Sheet Metal Fabricator – Cladding / Insulation Industry

Elite Sheet Metal Fabrications Ltd is a growing sheet metal fabrication company based in Basildon, Essex. Due to continued growth and a consistently busy workshop, we are looking for an experienced, reliable and motivated Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team.

We specialise in manufacturing sheet metal products for the thermal insulation and cladding industry. Previous experience within this sector would be a major advantage, although we are also interested in experienced sheet metal fabricators who are keen to learn and develop.

This is a hands-on fabrication role within a busy workshop with a strong and growing workload.

The successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day fabrication of sheet metal products, working from measurements, drawings and customer requirements to produce accurate, high-quality finished work.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, wants to learn and improve, and is looking for more than simply turning up and completing a shift.

There is plenty of opportunity for overtime and additional earnings, as well as genuine opportunities to progress as the company continues to grow.

• Fabricating sheet metal components accurately to required measurements and specifications
• Measuring, marking out, cutting, forming and assembling sheet metal
• Producing items for the thermal insulation and cladding industry
• Reading and understanding drawings, measurements and fabrication requirements
• Carrying out calculations required for fabrication and development work
• Operating sheet metal fabrication machinery and hand tools safely
• Checking finished work for accuracy and quality
• Working efficiently to meet production requirements and customer deadlines
• Working closely with the rest of the fabrication team
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Following company health and safety procedures

Previous sheet metal fabrication experience is preferred, with experience in the thermal insulation, lagging or sheet metal cladding industry being particularly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Practical sheet metal fabrication experience
• Strong measuring and marking-out skills
• Good mathematical ability
• Confidence working with dimensions, angles, diameters and circumferences
• Ability to work accurately from drawings and measurements
• Experience using sheet metal fabrication machinery and equipment
