Charge Nurse – Colne Ward

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Cardiac Specialist Tertiary Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit in Colne Ward. This role supports a multidisciplinary team providing cardiac surgery and cardiology care.
Main Duties- Work as a skilled member of the Cardiothoracic Critical Care team, supporting and leading patient care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Maintain unit management and organisational skills, fostering an environment for staff education and development.
- Provide professional autonomy and decision‑making within the clinical setting, supporting agreed Integrated Care Pathways (ICPs), protocols and patient group directives.
- Registered Nurse.
- ITU course.
- Recognised teaching/mentorship/practice assessor course.
- Experience working in Critical Care.
- Cardiothoracic Critical Care / Cardiology experience.
The position requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975.
Salary: £39,959 a year (Pro Rata for Part Time).
