You will be responsible for delivering and maintaining the highest possible standard of nursing care, ensuring patients receive safe, compassionate and effective care throughout their admission. Care will be delivered in accordance with the NMC Code, Trust policies and evidence-based practice, with a clear focus on patient safety, dignity and wellbeing. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

• Promote effective communication across the multidisciplinary team, fostering positive working relationships and ensuring safe, collaborative practice.
• Be approachable and visible, maintaining strong, supportive communication with patients, relatives and carers through regular contact and availability.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred handovers to ensure continuity of care.
• Follow all relevant guidelines and written procedures, maintaining accurate, timely clinical records and documentation.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills when supporting distressed patients and families.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care plans, ensuring all care is fully documented and reviewed.
• Administer medicines safely and in line with legal requirements and Trust policies, supporting the safe custody, storage and control of medications at ward level.
• Commence discharge planning at admission to support timely patient flow and maximise ward capacity.
• Contribute to patient triage, supporting safe and efficient clinical decision‑making.

• Registered Nurse
• Passed university degree

• Experience in an acute hospital setting on placement

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service is required to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£32,073 a year (per rota for part time)
