Full-Time | Fixed-Term Contract | From £35,000 per year

Are you an experienced Support Worker, Care Assistant, or care professional looking to step into a meaningful and rewarding role within residential childcare?

We are a family‑run, independent organisation operating Ofsted‑regulated Children’s Homes in the Basildon area. We are seeking committed, compassionate individuals who want to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people by helping to create a safe, stable and nurturing home environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promoting Development & Independence Support young people to build essential life skills, develop confidence and work towards greater independence.
  • Daily Engagement & Activities Assist with day‑to‑day routines and meaningful activities such as cooking, arts and crafts, hobbies, and personal goals.
  • Educational Support Facilitate access to education, including transport to school or supporting home‑learning arrangements when required.
  • Operational Excellence Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational standards.
  • Creating a Nurturing Environment Contribute to a warm, structured and supportive home environment that promotes emotional, social and educational development.
  • Professional Conduct Communicate clearly and consistently with colleagues and external professionals, maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding at all times.
Benefits Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Level 3 Health & Social Care (child pathway or equivalent)
  • Experience in support work, care assistance, domiciliary care, or residential settings
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • No outstanding LADO or safeguarding referrals

Preferred:

  • Diploma of Higher Education
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children or young adults
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: From £35,000 per year (dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Shift Pattern: Average 48 hours per week, including a mix of day shifts and waking nights
  • Career Progression: All current Managers and Deputy Managers began as Support Workers
