HGV Technician

Overview

HGV Technician role at NRG Riverside. Flexible salary with bonus and benefits. This position is based at Basildon depot and involves service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including refuse trucks. Training will be provided as needed.

• Undertake routine inspection and repair of internal and external HGVs within the NRG workshop estate
• Carry out commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repairs, and final preparation for MOT test
• Attend breakdowns, diagnose issues, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
• Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet

• Experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic/Engineer or Mobile HGV Technician
• Municipal experience including working on bin wagons/RCVs
• Repairs and wheel alignment experience
• HGV technical qualification (NVQ or City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Class 2 licence preferred
• IRTEC accreditation preferred
• Experience in a similar role with understanding of the HGV industry
• Excellent customer service and strong team player, plus ability to work on own initiative
• Experience in Waste/Recycling industry is advantageous but not essential
• Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices

• Salary: £51,760.25 per annum + Bonus + Amazing benefits
• Rotating shift pattern:
  Week 1 06:30 to 16:00 Monday to Friday (30 minute unpaid break);
  Week 2 07:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday (30 minute unpaid break)
• 45 hours per week
