Assistant Accountant - Bourne - Attractive package ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant with immediate effect for our client based in Bourne, just north of Peterborough. Assistant Accountant:
Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is part-qualified and looking to develop their skills, contribute to continuous improvement, and play a key role in strengthening our financial processes. Key responsibilities Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes Support balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings Maintain accurate financial records with strong attention to detail Carry out purchase ledger and sales ledger duties as required Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting Support system improvements and help streamline financial processes Provide general support across the finance team as needed Essential skills & experience Excellent Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, strong formula knowledge) High attention to detail and accuracy Part-qualified in AAT / ACCA / CIMA Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role A proactive mindset and willingness to improve processes and systems Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team You’ll be someone who thrives in a busy finance environment, takes pride in high-quality work, and is eager to grow professionally.
