Summary

Black and White Accounting are looking for a new apprentice accountant. You will be studying toward your Accounts Assistant Level 3 apprenticeship qualification.

Wage

£15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You'll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work
  • As an Accounts Assistant Apprentice at Black & White Accounting, you'll join a friendly, supportive team and get stuck into real client work straight away. You won't just be making tea or watching from the sidelines - you'll be developing practical skills that will set you up for a future career in accounting.
  • Your day-to-day could include bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, CIS, year-end accounts and personal tax returns. You'll also contact clients to gather records and information, help answer their questions and build great relationships with them, giving you valuable experience in customer service and client communication too.
  • You’ll work with different businesses, industries and accounting software, so there will always be something new to learn. As your skills and confidence grow, you’ll be trusted with more responsibility and encouraged to take ownership of your work.
  • Carry out bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records for clients.
  • Assist with preparing VAT returns, year-end accounts and personal tax returns.
  • Support payroll processing and CIS submissions.
  • Contact clients to request records, documents and any missing information needed to complete their work.
  • Build positive relationships with clients by answering queries and providing friendly, professional customer service.
  • Use accounting software and digital systems to process and organise financial information.
  • Support the wider accounts team with day-to-day client work and administrative tasks.
  • Take responsibility for meeting deadlines and keeping client records up to date.
  • Develop technical accounting knowledge and apply learning from the AAT Level 3 qualification in the workplace.
