AboutThe Role
I’m looking for a proactive Workshop Controller to ensure smooth operations within a motor dealership workshop. You’ll coordinate all vehicle work, manage a team of technicians, and work closely with other departments to deliver top-quality service for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily workshop operations, assigning jobs to technicians efficiently.
- Ensure quality control by ordering the correct parts, conducting audits, and monitoring compliance.
- Support dealership profitability by managing workflow and resources effectively.
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of technicians and apprentices to meet business objectives and targets.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Schedule work based on customer needs, workshop targets, job complexity, and parts availability.
- Provide accurate estimates for servicing and repairs, including time frames.
- Assist technicians with technical challenges and identify effective solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with DVSA regulations, health and safety standards, manufacturer policies, and company guidelines.
- Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Experience in the automotive industry, ideally in workshop control or as a technician.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to delegate and inspire a team.
- Proficient in IT and workshop management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to make informed decisions and work under pressure.
- Lead a dynamic, skilled workshop team.
- Play a key role in delivering excellent service and driving dealership success.
