Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are easy to do business with!

That's why we need people like you; friendly, approachable and confident in building trust with local communities, customers and stakeholders.

About the role

We're looking for a Community Liaison Officer to support the delivery of major electricity infrastructure projects, helping our teams work well with the communities, customers and stakeholders affected by our works.

This is a role where communication really matters. You'll be the link between project teams and the people impacted by our work, making sure information is clear, concerns are listened to, and issues are followed through properly. From early engagement and consultation through to construction activity, you'll help build trust, protect our reputation and support projects to move forward with minimal disruption.

Here are some of the tasks you'd be involved with...

Developing and delivering engagement plans for electricity infrastructure projects, including substations, overhead lines, underground cables and wider network upgrades.
Acting as a key point of contact for residents, businesses, landowners, local authorities, community groups and other stakeholders.
Providing clear and timely updates on project scope, timescales, traffic management, access arrangements, construction activity and possible disruption.
Planning and supporting consultation events, drop-in sessions, stakeholder briefings, newsletters and local project updates.
Responding to queries, concerns, objections and complaints, making sure these are logged, investigated and closed out properly.
Building constructive relationships with planning authorities, parish councils, elected members, statutory consultees, environmental bodies and local representatives.
Identifying local sensitivities, reputational risks and opportunities to improve how we engage with communities.
Keeping accurate records of stakeholder contact, consultation activity, issues raised and actions taken.
Preparing regular updates for project teams and senior leaders on engagement activity, feedback, risks and trends.

We'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate...

Experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, customer operations, public affairs or communications, ideally within utilities, infrastructure, construction or another regulated environment.
Confidence working with a wide range of people, including members of the public, local authorities, community groups, landowners and project teams.
Good judgement when dealing with sensitive, challenging or emotive situations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain project information clearly and professionally.
The ability to organise your workload, manage competing priorities and keep accurate records.
A proactive approach to spotting risks early and helping project teams find practical solutions.

A full UK driving licence, as regular travel to project sites for meetings is required
