Position: Visual Artist / Editor

We are Zeal

We’re on a mission to become the most trusted lighting and visual production partner. And you could be too.

A bit about us

From the outside, Zeal is known for world-class lighting and visual production. Inside, we’re known for how we work.

We design and deliver live shows and events from under one roof – partnering with artists, creatives, producers, agencies, venues, and teams who care about both ambition and execution.

Our services include production design, lighting design, programming, visual art, technical production, and equipment rental, specialising in lighting solutions.

The result is work that’s imaginative, meticulous, and thoughtfully delivered.

We’re curious by nature, collaborative by default, and serious about our craft – but never at the expense of trust, authenticity, or people feeling supported to do their best work.

The quality of what we produce matters. But how it’s made, and who it’s made with, matters just as much.

Why this role exists

As more clients recognise the value of having a full visual production delivered under one roof, demand for our visual art and editing of live shows is growing.

This role exists to ensure our productions maintain the imaginative, meticulous standard Zeal is known for, while expanding our creative team to deliver increasingly complex and visually striking experiences. You’ll help shape the visual identity of our shows and ensure every project meets the same high standard behind the scenes as it does on stage.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be at the heart of our creative output, helping to bring ideas to life and shape the visual language for our clients. This includes:

  • Working closely with our Creative Director and wider creative team to develop and deliver visuals for live shows and productions
  • Editing and sequencing content to timecode
  • Working with real-time visual effects, hardware, and live visual systems
  • Creating bespoke visuals tailored to each client’s style and visual language
  • Managing and organising visual assets across multiple projects and clients
  • Coordinating and working alongside freelance animators for specific styles and deliverables
What we’re looking for

You’ll probably be great at this if you…

  • Have a positive, can-do attitude
  • Share some, if not all of our core values – especially a passion for music, video, and production
  • Enjoy working as part of a team, and giving and receiving feedback
  • Want to develop your skills in the industry
Must haves…
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Adobe Suite
  • A good knowledge of the history of live visuals, art, and film/music video
  • An understanding on how assets are used and delivered for live music and events
  • Knowledge of live visual systems used in live shows and productions
Bonus points if you have…
  • Experience with Notch or other live visual effects packages
What it’s like to work here

We might be biased, but we love it here.

We look out for each other.

We are calm under pressure.

We have high standards (and hold each other to them).

We take the work seriously – but not ourselves.

Position, salary, and location

This is a full-time, permanent position. We believe in creating an environment that makes people want to work in our offices in Basingstoke every day, but flexible and hybrid working is available.

Salary: £35-55k DOE plus benefits (including private healthcare)

Hours can vary based on workloads, and we take a pragmatic approach depending on what projects are being developed or delivered.

Last but definitely not least

We’re out to create more imaginative and emotive moments for everyone, and we celebrate diversity amongst our audiences and our team.

We are committed to inclusion and equality across race, gender, sexuality, age, religion, identity, and experience.

We also know we have a long way to go, so are particularly keen to hear from you if you are from an underrepresented group within our industry.
