SEN Teaching Assistant – Make a Real Difference Every Day

Location:

Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Join MILK Education and support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Working one-to-one and in small groups, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment tailored to each pupil’s needs.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans
  • Encouraging development of communication, social, and life skills
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
  • Supporting daily routines including break times, activities, and school trips
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support progress

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (professional or voluntary)
  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent)
  • Confidence supporting pupils with additional or complex needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Willingness to support personal/intimate care where required
  • A positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for supporting young people
