About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly team at Rucstall Primary School. In this role, you will support our pupils during their favourite part of the day—helping them enjoy their lunch and facilitating fun, safe, and positive play.

Whether you are looking for a local role that fits around your family life or wanting to gain initial experience in a school environment, we will fully support you with a thorough induction from our Lead Lunchtime Supervisor.

What You Will Do:

  • Support Healthy Lunches: Help younger pupils with food consumption, including opening cartons and cutting up food.
  • Promote 'Positive Play': Actively engage with children to keep playtimes energetic, inclusive, and highly enjoyable.
  • Ensure Safety: Supervise pupils across the dining hall and playground to maintain a secure environment.

What We Are Looking For:

We welcome candidates who have an emerging understanding of child behaviour and are eager to learn. You will be a great fit if you:

  • Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and a proactive attitude.
  • Communicate effectively, work brilliantly in a team, and bring a good sense of humour.
  • Show initiative while working under the supportive guidance of our team.
  • Understand (or are willing to learn) school confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.

What We Can Offer You:

  • A Warm Welcome: A highly supportive, dedicated, and friendly staff community.
  • Professional Growth: A dedicated 'buddy' Teaching Assistant to guide your induction.
  • On-the-Job Training: Free training in safeguarding, positive play interventions, and external courses as required.

How to Apply

We warmly welcome prospective candidates to visit our school! To arrange a visit or request an official Hampshire County Council application form, please email our school office at admin
