EBD HLTA – Basingstoke Supporting Pupils with SEMH, Autism and behavioural needs

We’re seeking dedicated EBD HLTA to support in an SEMH provisional unit to work with a range of different needs throughout a specialist secondary school. All children within the unit present behaviours that need addressing with empathy but and confidence. It is essential you are strong, calm, and consistent, with the confidence to follow agreed strategies, apply boundaries fairly, and respond proactively.

You would need to have experience working with children with complex needs and experience personalising planning and resources to meet diverse learning styles.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or adults with barriers to learning
  • Strong sense of empathy, resilience, and a commitment to inclusive education

  • Clear and concise way of communicating
  • Someone resilient, calm and consistent
  • Understand body language and being proactive in support
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to different needs and learning styles
