Prospero Teaching is recruiting an enthusiastic and dependable Teaching Assistant to support pupils in schools across the Basingstoke area. This role involves working closely with teachers to help create a positive learning environment and ensure pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.
You will provide a combination of 1:1 support and small-group assistance, helping pupils develop confidence, stay on task, and make progress in their learning. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive difference in education.
The Role:- Support teaching and learning within the classroom
- Provide 1:1 support and assist with small-group activities
- Help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons
- Assist with classroom tasks, resources, and learning activities
- Support behaviour management and positive routines
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
- Experience working with children or young people
- Patient, supportive, and confident in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptable and able to respond to different pupil needs
- Reliable, proactive, and organised
- Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching, or education welcomed
- Graduates looking to gain school experience encouraged to apply
- Position: Teaching Assistant
- Location: Basingstoke
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Pattern: Full-time, term-time
- Pay Rate:£14.25 - £15.66 per hour
- Key Stages: Primary / Secondary
- Experience working with children desirable
- SEN experience beneficial but not essential
- Safeguarding training can be provided
- Free accredited CPD, including safeguarding & behaviour management
- Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
