Near Basingstoke

Monday–Friday, 1:15pm–3:15pm (10 hours per week)

About the School

A friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school near Basingstoke is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Graduate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a pupil with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and high sensory needs.

The Role
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil during afternoon lessons.
  • Support a child with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and high sensory needs.
  • Use sensory strategies to help the pupil regulate, engage and participate in learning.
  • Encourage communication, confidence, independence and positive social interaction.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support strategies.
  • Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil and celebrate their progress.
Person Specification

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A graduate in Psychology, Education, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Health & Social Care, or a related subject (desirable).
  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
  • Patient, calm and nurturing.
  • Keen to build experience within SEN and child development.
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
