Tutor - Basingstoke Flexible 1:1 Tutoring Opportunities Across a Range of Subjects

We're looking for Tutors to support children and young people across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas
.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities
, you'll provide personalised 1:1 tuition to learners who require alternative educational provision. We welcome applications from tutors with experience delivering core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science
, as well as those with expertise in specific subject areas.

Many of the students supported have experienced disruptions to their education and benefit from tailored support that helps them rebuild confidence, develop key skills, and achieve positive outcomes.

  • Location: Basingstoke & Surrounding Areas
  • Subjects: Core Subjects and Specialist Subjects Welcome
  • Start Date: September
  • Hours: Flexible
  • Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour
  • Type: 1:1 Tuition
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting
    , including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
  • Strong knowledge of one or more curriculum subjects
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and learner-focused approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within the Basingstoke area

You'll work with children and young people of varying ages, including learners with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and school avoidance
  • EHCPs and additional educational needs
