Subject Specialist Tutor

Turn Your Subject Expertise Into Meaningful Support

We re looking for Subject Specialist Tutors across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities
, you ll support learners who require alternative educational provision and benefit from a tailored approach to learning. We welcome applications from tutors and education professionals with experience teaching any curriculum subject
, whether that s English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages, Art, Business Studies, Computing, or another specialist area.

If you have experience teaching a subject and enjoy helping students achieve their potential, we d love to hear from you.

  • Location: Basingstoke & Surrounding Areas
  • Subjects: All Subject Specialisms Considered
  • Start Date: September
  • Hours: Flexible
  • Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour
  • Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months  experience in an educational setting
    , including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
  • Experience teaching or supporting at least one curriculum subject
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and learner-focused approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally around Basingstoke and surrounding areas

Who You ll Support

You ll work with children and young people of varying ages and abilities, including learners with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and school avoidance
  • EHCPs and additional educational needs

Each placement is different, allowing you to use your subject expertise to support learners in a way that works best for them.
