An established national building services consultancy is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. With 13 offices across the UK, the business offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of technically challenging projects while playing a key role in leadership, delivery, and team development.

The Role

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will take technical ownership of projects, lead design delivery, and support the development of engineers across the team. You will be involved from concept through to completion, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders across a broad range of building services projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical building services design across multiple projects

• Provide technical leadership and quality assurance

• Manage project delivery, budgets, and programme expectations

• Support and mentor junior and intermediate engineers

• Engage directly with clients and attend design meetings

• Contribute to business growth and project wins

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent)

• Extensive experience within building services consultancy

• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and UK Building Regulations

• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor teams

• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
