Structural Rail Engineer
An established and growing engineering consultancy is seeking a Structural Rail Engineer to join its rail infrastructure team in Basingstoke.

This role offers the chance to work on a variety of UK rail projects across the full project lifecycle, within a supportive and technically strong consultancy environment.

This position would suit an engineer with UK rail experience who is looking to develop their technical capability and progress their career within a specialist rail consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver civil and structural engineering design for rail infrastructure projects including bridges, retaining walls, stations, platforms, and associated rail structures
Produce and check engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and technical documentation
Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards, Eurocodes, and relevant British Standards
Support feasibility studies, optioneering, and detailed design development
Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams
Provide technical support during construction, including responding to site queries
Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and CDM compliance

Candidate Requirements
Essential:

Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven experience working on UK rail infrastructure projects
Working knowledge of Network Rail standards and rail design processes
Ability to produce clear and accurate engineering calculations and drawings
Experience using AutoCAD and relevant structural analysis/design software
Strong communication and organisational skills
Eligibility to work in the UK Desirable:

Working towards or holding ICE or IStruct

E professional membership (IEng / CEng)

Experience with in a rail consultancy environment
BIM and digital engineering experience
Previous site or construction support experience
