Senior Bridge Engineer – Basingstoke
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Basingstoke team, who take pride in working together to provide positive project outcomes for our clients.
We work for leading UK&I and international clients and have a wide range of commissions of varying scale across all sectors. Some typical examples of current and recent past projects include:
Network Rail CAFA Wessex, Thames Water pipe bridges, M40 DBFO, Devonport, Assessment and Inspection projects for nearby Local Authorities.
Our work spans the following major sectors:
- Energy
- Rail
- Highways
- Water
- Development
- Defence
- Lead and manage bridge and structure projects from inspection and assessment through design, construction, and maintenance, producing high‑quality deliverables.
- Apply cutting‑edge approaches in structural analysis, design solutions, and project controls.
- Present clearly to clients and colleagues through reports, drawings, sketches, and conversations.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and development of junior team members.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered, or near Chartered/ Incorporated, with ICE or IStruct
E (or equivalent), with appropriate experience. - Strong technical capability across inspection, assessment and design; able to supervise graduates and technicians.
- Proven project delivery to quality, time and budget, with effective risk and change control.
- Experience in road and/or rail environments.
- Experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Previous exposure with clients of both national and local authorities, together with major contractors.
- Ability to manage Health & Safety responsibilities and ensure CDM compliance.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software (e.g., LUSAS, MIDAS, SOFiSTiK, or Structural Bridge Design).
- Experience of structural Eurocodes, National Highways (DMRB & MCHW) or Network Rail standards. AASHTO beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
