Job DescriptionWe are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Civil Engineer Apprentice to join our Aviation Engineering Team.
As an apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the design, planning, inspection, and delivery of infrastructure projects for airports of all sizes - including major commercial hubs and greenfield airports to general aviation airfields and military installations. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and airport planners on a diverse range of projects in the UK and Europe, helping to develop and maintain critical airport infrastructure that enables safe and efficient aircraft operations.
Typical projects include runway, taxiway and apron design, aircraft stand planning, airport asset inspections, airfield drainage and utilities, airfield lighting and signage, and airport master planning.
- Supporting the design and planning of airport engineering and airport master planning projects.
- Assisting with feasibility studies, concept designs and detailed design development.
- Supporting the production of 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Adhere to CAD standards to produce data rich design deliverables
- Supporting construction activities and site visits where appropriate.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- This position is ideally suited to school leavers at GCSE or A-Level (or equivalent) who can demonstrate the following:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including Mathematics and English.
- Three A-Levels (or equivalent) including Mathematics and a physical science at grade C or above (essential for the Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship).
- Demonstrate an interest and desire to pursue a career in civil engineering and a passion for aviation.
- Commitment to continued education and professional development through work-based learning and formal study.
- Creative, practical, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Good IT skills; experience with AutoCAD or similar design software would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
