Senior Hardware Engineer
Stannah has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join the Stairlift Engineering department based in Andover.
The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining electronic hardware solutions for safety‑critical consumer products. As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will deliver innovative and reliable hardware solutions that support the continued success of our stairlift products.
Working hours: 37 hours a week, Monday‑Thursday 08:00‑16:45, Friday 08:00‑13:00 on a permanent basis. This role offers hybrid working of three days in the office after a successful probation period.
Responsibilities- Develop electrical and electronic hardware designs for safety-critical applications.
- Produce and maintain hardware documentation with full traceability from requirements through to implementation.
- Verify and validate designs through laboratory testing and support testing activities.
- Support DFMEA activities and product safety hazard analysis processes.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers while carrying out peer reviews and sign-off of engineering documentation.
- Proven experience in the design and development of electrical/electronic systems.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools and electronic prototype build and test activities.
- Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics principles.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements, analyse data, and communicate findings effectively.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and engineering documentation tools.
- Knowledge of microcontrollers, motor control systems, communications protocols, user interfaces, and sensor technologies is desirable.
- Understanding of the V-model development process.
- Experience with EMC compliance and safety-critical product development is advantageous.
- Proven experience in the design and development of electrical/electronic systems.
