Associate Director - Infrastructure

As an Associate or Associate Director you will provide technical leadership to design teams, ensuring high‑quality delivery within agreed time and budget, while mentoring and supporting junior staff.

• Develop and nurture excellent client relationships, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
• Manage and execute projects within agreed time frames and budgets.
• Lead, coordinate and mentor a team producing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports.
• Prepare and submit S104 applications, providing crucial drainage design support for S106 and S278 designs.
• Oversee detailed drainage design through to construction, ensuring compliance with industry guidelines (NPPF, SuDS Manual, Design and Construction Guidance, and related technical standards).
• Review technical reports and convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
• Lead discussions with Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA), Environment Agency (EA) and Water Authorities (WA).
• Champion health and safety practices throughout the workplace and design process.
• Mentor and develop the skills of junior team members, fostering their professional growth.

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the ICE or CIWEM.
• Proven track record in building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong experience in preparing and submitting S104 applications and providing drainage design support for S106 and S278 designs.
• Detailed knowledge of industry guidelines such as NPPF, SuDS Manual, Design and Construction Guidance, and relevant technical standards.
• Excellent technical reporting, writing and review skills.
• Providing strategic direction and highly visible leadership within a development context.
• Exhibits and demonstrates behaviours and attitudes in accordance with company core values.
• Works in partnership with other colleagues to coordinate across the Development discipline and share market intelligence, best practice and innovation.
• Engages with the Technical Leadership Group (TLG) to promote technical innovation, best practice and technological advancements for infrastructure development on major projects.
• Supports the Place Lead in establishing the company in the local marketplace and raising its profile.
• Track record in securing new work streams and generating new business opportunities in the Development sector.
• Supports the Place Lead in the leadership of the Development team alongside other Senior Team Members.
• Leadership of Development / Development Infrastructure projects.
• Drives business development by embedding within local networks of decision makers and establishing lasting relationships.
• Wins work from key accounts and aligns the business to secure major opportunities and an increasing order book.
• Mentors and coaches mid‑career professionals in client management, project management and leadership roles/functions.
• Leads and supports bids by contributing to reviewing and authorising submissions, demonstrating added value both commercially and technically.
• Supports all aspects associated with H&S / Corporate Responsibility and ensures compliance with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality).
