Are you ready to lead a team of flood risk specialists and shape the future of the Water Industry?

We’re looking for a Technical Director or Associate to join our growing Water team. You’ll play a senior technical role, leading teams to deliver flood risk modelling projects, while helping to expand our services on existing frameworks with our Gold clients such as the Environment Agency, National Grid and water companies..

Here’s what you’ll do
  • Work with our dedicated project teams nationally to provide technical direction in the delivery of complex and challenging projects.
  • Technically lead or verify hydraulic modelling projects which are assisting the design of flood alleviation schemes, flood risk assessments or the Environment Agency’s flood maps.
  • Technically review or verify technical reports documenting model build and uncertainties in the model build process.
  • Lead and input into proposals ranging from innovative one-off projects to large framework contracts.
  • Mentor staff within the team to support their professional development
  • Build relationships externally with clients and with other internal technical disciplines
  • Keep up-to-date with policy and technical developments and guidelines, share them with the team and identify and implement adaptations to our services
  • Deliver thought leadership and represent AECOM at conferences to showcase our expertise
  • Drive innovation within the team to deliver our projects efficiently and right first-time, including the development and enablement of AI solutions.
  • Be an active member of our global community of hydraulic modellers.
