We're looking for an Assistant Signal Sighting Engineer to support the management of SPAD (Signal Passed at Danger) mitigation and signal sighting activities across your allocated area.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical expertise while playing a key role in improving railway safety and performance. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, supporting investigations, inspections and innovation in signal sighting.
In this role, you'll:, helping to convene and chair signal sighting committees, analyse data, and produce reports and recommendations,
, contributing to Network Rail's safety goals
, ensuring compliance with Railway Group, Industry and company standards
, ensuring accuracy and consistency
, particularly across projects and minor works activities
Essential
- ONC or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
- The ability to facilitate committees. This requires a strong character to deal with potentially challenging situations with an open mind and innovative thinking.
- Work under pressure with regards to tight deadlines and satisfying the needs of train operators and projects
- Holder of Sentinel competency in Personnel Track safety.
Desirable
- Knowledge of operations
- Holder of Sentinel Competency Signal Sighting Committee Member and Chair
- Incorporated Engineer
- Signalling Maintenance Testing Handbook qualification
