Anaerobic Digestion Senior Maintenance Engineer

Astute's Renewables team is closely partnered with an anaerobic digestion business who is looking for a Senior Maintenance Engineer or similar. The biogas plant has been expanded over its lifespan and we have a strong, settled team and now is the time to recruit a Senior Maintenance Engineer to take charge of the maintenance department on site. The Senior Maintenance Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £45,000 plus benefits and overtime, but if your expectation is a little higher I would like to hear from you.

If you're a Senior Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Manager and are looking to work in the renewable energy sector then

Reporting to the Plant Manager you will:

• Lead responsibility for the maintenance and optimisation of the biogas plant
• Provide some leadership and seniority to the more junior Technicians and Engineers on site and, in time, being able to deputise for the Plant Manager in their absence
• Ensure that maintenance tasks are scheduled, documented and reported
• Being hands on with the fault-finding and maintenance of key equipment on site, including the likes of motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors and all associated equipment
• Coordinating work provided by external subcontractors and inspecting/signing off their works
• Assess stock levels of parts and ensure all stores are up to date and well-stocked in the necessary areas
• Have some control of the maintenance department's budget and learn to take overall responsibility for this
• Be part of the on call rota and available on the phone when needed
• Using the CMMS software to ensure all maintenance tasks are properly logged, coordinated, reported and actioned
• Using the SCADA system to help proactively diagnose maintenance issues
• Other duties as required

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A strong practical engineering background with proven fault-finding experience, ideally with a higher education in this field
• Experience in a similar maintenance role is required
• Experience in a process plant environment and ideally in waste
• Leadership experience is possible, or someone who has mentored others

The Senior Maintenance Engineer role would suit someone who is:

• Able to work well under pressure
• The biogas industry isn't a 9-5, so be flexible to accommodate the nature of the plant and the maintenance it will need
• Strong when it comes to HSE awareness
• Someone who wants to progress, is very self-motivated and is happy working outside

• Up to £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience
