Senior Accountant

We are hiring a Senior Accountant to support the Finance Director in managing the day-to-day financial accounting operations of a growing business in the renewable energy and infrastructure sector. This role offers broad exposure across financial accounting, management reporting, compliance, and group reporting, with the opportunity to take real ownership and develop into a leadership position.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under UK GAAP and support Group reporting under IFRS

• Manage general ledger activities, including journals, accruals and reconciliations

• Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactions

• Lead key elements of the month-end close process and deliver accurate, timely results

• Prepare management accounts, variance analysis and financial commentary

• Support external audits, prepare audit schedules and manage auditor queries

• Review and submit UK VAT returns and support corporation tax computations

• Provide financial insights to senior management and group finance

• Support project controllers by ensuring accurate project cost reporting

• Improve financial systems, processes and reporting tools (e.g., ERP / eGecko)

• Supervise junior finance staff

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified

• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and a good understanding of IFRS

• Experience in construction, engineering or renewable energy is beneficial

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Clear, confident communicator who can work effectively with UK and international teams
