Financial Controller

This is a broad role based on the outskirts of central leeds combining financial control, commercial finance and business partnering. You will lead a small finance team while working closely with senior management and operational stakeholders to provide accurate reporting, robust financial controls and meaningful commercial insight. The position would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys operating close to the business and wants a role with genuine scope to influence performance, improve processes and develop the finance function.

Key Responsibilities Preparation of management accounts, KPI reporting and financial analysis Maintain ownership of the balance sheet and P&L Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning across the business Provide commercial analysis and insight to support senior management decision making Partner with operational stakeholders to understand performance, identify risks and opportunities and improve profitability Oversee financial performance across business activities, including revenue, costs, margins and WIP Review budgets and forecasts challenging assumptions and providing clear performance commentary Manage working capital, cash flow and debt management activities Support statutory reporting requirements and the external audit process Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting, controls and processes About You You will be a qualified accountant with a strong financial control background and the ability to combine technical accounting with commercial insight.

Ideally you will have: ACCA or CIMA qualification with relevant post qualified experience Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience Experience working within a commercially focused environment with multiple revenue streams Strong financial control and balance sheet management experience The ability to interpret financial information and communicate it effectively to non finance stakeholders Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting and ERP systems Previous experience managing and developing a finance team A proactive approach to improving reporting, processes and financial controls Salary:
