Mayoral Events Co-ordinator
Are you an enthusiastic, well‑organised person with excellent communication skills? We are looking for somebody to join the Council as a Mayoral Event Co‑ordinator.
The Mayor is the first citizen of the borough and its civic head. In a non‑political capacity the Mayor furtheres the interests of the borough where an appropriate occasion arises, including formal dinners, official openings, visits to clubs, societies and schools, and hosting visits to the Mayor’s Parlour from various organisations.
Reporting to the Democratic and Electoral Services Manager, the role supports the Mayor and Deputy Mayor in organising their engagements day‑to‑day, charity events and coordinating major civic events such as Remembrance Sunday, Armistice Day, The Mayor’s Christmas Carol Concert and Holocaust Memorial Day.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, building professional relationships with senior council officers, elected councillors and external stakeholders. They will be approachable, professional and assertive.
The majority of the working week will be spent on‑site. Evening and weekend working may be required to support events.
