We're working with a growing financial services business looking to bring in a Data Analytics Engineer to help build out their data platform from the ground up.
You'll own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products - ingestion, modelling and presentation - working closely with stakeholders across the business to turn raw data into something they can actually use and act on.
What you'll be doing:- Designing and building performant data ingestion pipelines using Apache Spark, ideally within Azure Databricks
- Contributing to the platform's data modelling and architecture
- Building dashboards and semantic models, and presenting these directly to stakeholders
- Working across the full pipeline from source systems to target repositories, with a strong focus on data quality
- Collaborating with Data Scientists to help product ionise ML pipelines
- Operating within an Agile/Dev Ops environment
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Solid understanding of Lakehouse architecture and data management principles
- Hands‑on experience with Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Storage, Dev Ops)
- 5+ years' experience building data platforms in a commercial setting
- Exposure to Kafka or other open-source tools
- Background in a regulated industry (finance/insurance)
