Supply Chain Specialist

Location: Basingstoke, England

Working pattern: Office-based

Salary: 35,000 per annum

The Role

An established manufacturing business is looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to manage UK demand planning, MRP, purchasing and inbound logistics from overseas supply points. You'll work closely with Sales and Service teams in the UK and global manufacturing to ensure product and spares availability, while controlling inventory and freight costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain UK demand forecasts (sales pipeline, historic trends, service/spares needs)
  • Run MRP/ERP planning to maintain stock levels and generate purchase requirements
  • Raise and manage purchase orders with overseas manufacturing and suppliers
  • Track orders end-to-end: production, shipment, customs clearance and UK delivery
  • Coordinate inbound international logistics (air/sea), including customs documentation and compliance
  • Maintain planning master data (lead times, safety stock, reorder points)
  • Monitor supplier performance (OTIF, quality, responsiveness) and escalate issues
  • Support continuous improvement across planning, ordering and logistics processes
About you
  • 3-5 years' experience in supply chain planning, procurement or order management (manufacturing/technical preferred)
  • Confident using MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite)
  • Knowledge of imports/logistics and UK customs processes
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working across time zones and with international stakeholders
