You'll start by completing a Textile Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship , gaining hands-on experience within our Winding department while earning a recognised qualification. After approximately 15 months , you'll progress onto the next stage of your development by undertaking an Engineering qualification , allowing you to build specialist technical skills and continue your journey towards becoming a highly skilled engineer within our manufacturing business.
Throughout the program, you'll earn while you learn, receive support from experienced mentors, and gain practical experience using industry-leading machinery in a global manufacturing company with over 200 years of textile expertise. What you'll be doing As a Winding Operative Apprentice , you'll play an important role in preparing yarn for the next stages of production, learning how to operate specialist winding machinery while developing the skills needed to become a key member of our manufacturing team.
You'll learn how to:
Operate winding machines to rewind yarn onto cones and packages. Monitor yarn tension and quality throughout the winding process. Identify and resolve minor faults such as yarn breaks. Record production information accurately and report any issues. Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment. Follow quality, environmental and health & safety standards at all times. What we're looking for No previous textile experience? No problem . We'll provide all the training you need as we're looking for people with the right attitude and a willingness to learn. You'll be someone who:
Has an interest in manufacturing, engineering or textiles. Enjoys practical, hands-on work. Has good attention to detail and manual dexterity. Is reliable, motivated and eager to learn.
