CNC Miller – Setter

Capricorn Applied Technology Ltd began its life in 1998 specialising in the deep drilling and honing of complex high precision products evolving into the manufacture of cylinder liners and assembly of Formula 1 engine blocks and has expanded its expertise into the production precision-forgedged pistons. Today, Capricorn specialises in the design and manufacture of high-end precision engine components for the motor sport, niche OEM automotive, automotive aftermarket and niche aero markets.

• Main duties
• Setting and operating both horizontal and vertical CNC mills with Fanuc & Yasnac controls
• Selecting correct tools, fixtures and programs for CNC machines
• Re-setting machines for operators when required
• In cycle and final de-burring prior to passing on to the next stage of production
• Reading engineering drawings and programme for CNC machines
• Carry out in-process inspection to drawing specification using a variety of measuring equipment e.g., micrometres
• Management of programming updates and programming for new components
• Minor machine maintenance, cleaning machine and own area at end of your shift
• Adhere to AS9100/ISO
  9001 QMS, Route cards and work instructions
• Undertake other appropriate assigned duties by the Production Manager
