Lead Nurse – Unscheduled Care Services (USC)

We are seeking an exceptional nursing leader to take on the pivotal role of Lead Nurse for Unscheduled Care Services at Hampshire Hospitals.

The Lead Nurse will play a central role in shaping the future of unscheduled care across our three sites—Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital, and Andover War Memorial Hospital. The position involves the delivery of high‑quality, safe and effective care, focusing on outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers.

• Provide strategic vision, senior clinical leadership, and operational oversight for USC teams.
• Influence the delivery of care across frontline services and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Develop a resilient workforce, supporting safe and compassionate care through training and professional guidance.
• Maintain awareness and proactive engagement with external regulatory standards, including the Care Quality Commission and best practice in urgent and emergency care.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Unscheduled Care and the Clinical Director to meet agreed objectives, quality standards, and statutory targets.

• Demonstrated current knowledge and proactive engagement with regulatory standards relevant to urgent and emergency care.
• Experience in senior nursing leadership within a complex healthcare environment.
• Strong communication and inspirational leadership skills, with the ability to energise multidisciplinary teams.
• Track record of developing and implementing strategies that improve patient outcomes and service efficiency.
