Utility Arborist - South East
Join Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks as a Utility Arborist in the South East, based in Petersfield, Aldershot, Basingstoke or Portsmouth. The role is mobile and predominantly field‑based; you must be able to commute within 30 minutes of the listed depots.
Base location: Petersfield, Aldershot, Basingstoke, Portsmouth
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
Salary: £29,504 – £34,757 + benefits
Benefits- 37 hour working week

We are looking for an Arborist/Tree‑cutter to join our busy team. In this cyclical tree cutting programme, you will work with a highly skilled team to manage trees and vegetation near our distribution network. Working with safety at the forefront, you will evaluate, prepare and carry out tree cutting works on a variety of sites.
We invest millions every year to keep our network in top condition, minimise power cuts, and protect public safety. During high winds and storms, trees can contact our equipment; we cut or trim them to maintain the power supply. Our in‑house tree‑cutting team ensures trees and vegetation remain clear from overhead lines and equipment.
What You'll Need- Previous experience in tree cutting, forestry or arboriculture
- Relevant NPTC certificate units for chainsaw use, and qualifications including NPTC or UAs
- Enthusiasm, flexibility and adaptability to changing business and project priorities
- Experience working with power lines; climbing skills are highly advantageous
- A high regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines
Travel is required and you must hold a current driving licence.
