32 hours per week over 3 days, including 1:4 Saturdays, no OOH

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our fabulous, forward‑thinking family at The Barn Animal Practice. We are a very friendly, sociable, caring and experienced team looking to always grow and develop.

• Purpose‑built veterinary practice with two surgical theatres, dedicated nurse consult room, ample client parking and dog walking areas
• Large long‑standing and loyal client base
• Modern diagnostic imaging equipment – digital radiography with bucky table, dental radiography, new ultrasound, endoscopy, rhinoscopy and fully equipped in‑house laboratory
• Silver Cat Friendly and Dog friendly Accredited
  , with separate cat waiting areas and staff with additional cat friendly qualifications
• Colleagues with diverse interests including feline internal medicine, general surgery, exotics and ophthalmology
• Benefit from in‑house expertise, including an Advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine and colleagues currently studying towards certificates
• Highly collaborative environment with daily rounds, regular in‑house training, and meetings for vets and clinical governance
• Encouragement and support to pursue certificates and further qualifications, both financially and clinically

The Barn Animal Practice has proudly served the local community for over 50 years, delivering high‑quality veterinary care for small animals. Alongside cats, dogs and rabbits, we also care for a wide range of small mammals and exotics, including guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, tortoises and birds.

• Team‑oriented Veterinary Surgeon with excellent communication skills and high clinical standards
• Interest in diagnostic imaging is desirable and basic proficiency in abdominal ultrasound is essential due to the medical caseload
• Cardiac ultrasound experience is desirable
• Enjoy a varied role combining consults and surgery
• Comfortable working sole charge during some Saturdays
• Confident making independent clinical decisions
