Field

Engineering Responsibilities
  • Closeout Redlines, Test Audits, Lessons Learned, Warranties, Product Submittals
    • Redlines:
      The leads and superintendents will oversee submitting changes to the Statement of Work. Field Engineers will check and verify that all infrastructure is installed to design/spec, and finalize redlines for closeout.
    • Test Audits:
      Run and verify audits after projects are complete, build the projects in a fashion that is easy for the team, and ensure 100% verification that the testing projects match the prints. Manage retest schedules and finalize audits once retest are completed.
    • Lessons Learned:
      Update throughout the build and finalize/review the standardized lessons learned template at the end of each project, using the lessons learned tracker.
    • Warranties:
      Gather all necessary information, send for processing/completion and coordinate with a designated team member for warranty documentation.
    • Product Submittals:
      Complete the first submittal once the RFP is issued, verify the BOM with the POs, and obtain product sheets.
  • Fiber:
    Use an internal tracker to manage redlines for ISP. Verify the Fiber scope and update designs to reflect changes.
  • Copper:
    Maintain an internal tracker to provide all information needed for close‑out. The Field Engineer may serve as the point of contact for installation verification and redlining.
  • Network:
    Work with the team to configure details if implementing network redlines is needed, taking on most of those responsibilities.
  • RFI referencing/implementation:
    Reference RFIs on redlines as a final task before sending for QA review.
  • Labels:
    Print labels for the installation teams, organize bins per area, maintain a sign‑out sheet for leads, and send an email to the engineering teams for any reprints needed.
  • RFIs:
    The Field Engineer can be the main engineer to oversee all RFIs before submission, conform and submit, and formally notify applicable teams of acceptance/rejection.
  • Design (Shop Drawings):
    Oversee all work concerning design, including verifying and brainstorming areas of interest, submitting work into BIM
    360, and keeping up with revisions, hyperlinks, etc.
  • Areas of focus:
    Infrastructure (Grounding/Bonding), Copper, Fiber Detail sheet(s)
  • Compensation:
    Min USD $42.00/Hr. Max USD $47.00/Hr.
Qualifications
  • Physical and Mental Requirements: Must be self‑motivated, positive in approach, professional, and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. Must have proven problem‑solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentations. Must diagnose and fix problems with existing equipment and new installs.

    Must be enthusiastic, passionate, patient, and a critical thinker. Must communicate with the customer and have excellent customer service skills. Must interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting and quality requirements. Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency;
    Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must have at least 3‑4 years of commercial low‑voltage/structured cabling experience. Must work well with other people, be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project), meet company minimum driving standards, be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, and demonstrate verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop…
