DG Foods is currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate should have 480volt electrical experience with a solid understanding of basic mechanical principles. Essential Job Functions- Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
- Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- Perform tasks in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
- Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations and assurance that all non‑maintenance employees are not at risk in the work zone.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Demonstrate initiative in recommendation(s) of measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Perform all activities of work assigned to the satisfaction of Maintenance Manager and other top management.
- Knowledge and assistance in Lock Out/ Tag Out procedures.
- Must adhere to attendance and job performance standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- At least one (1) year of maintenance experience, including but not limited to programmable logic controllers, mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing setting.
- Must have working knowledge of at least 480‑volt electrical systems, motors, wiring, etc.
- You must be coachable because we want you to succeed!
- Must be comfortable with working in a fast‑paced manufacturing/production environment.
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be legally eligible to work in accordance with federal and state law.
- Must have dependable transportation to and from DG Food facilities, no exceptions.
- Must be able to work various hours/holidays/weekends as required.
- Must be able to always wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Ability to work in a cold and wet environment.
- Must be able to work standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
