Overview
DG Foods LLC is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Spot Truck Operator for our facilities in Hazlehurst, MS and Bastrop, LA. This full-time position will involve operating a Spot Truck with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. DG Foods offers a very aggressive compensation program based on performance and an opportunity to participate in our company benefit programs.
BasePay Range
$20.00/yr - $25.00/yr
Essential Job Functions- Maneuvering refrigerated trailers in and around the shipping yard in an efficient and safe manner utilizing a designated spotter.
- Identify damages and report any shipping container deficiencies.
- Responsible for helping maintain and clean equipment.
- Responsible for daily pre-operation check list and pass / fail inspection.
- Responsible to check all loaded trailers are properly sealed.
- Performs pre-operation inspections daily and is responsible for reporting all deficiencies or damage.
- Responsible for notifying supervisor for Tag Out or Removal from service if Spot Truck doesn't pass inspection.
- Transport raw materials to assigned loading areas.
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
- Keep updated records and activity logs.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment for the facilities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have at least one (1) year of experience operating a Spot/Yard truck and/or “Over the road” truck and trailer combination.
- Must be comfortable with working in a fast‑paced manufacturing/production environment.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment is a must.
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must pass our multiday orientation class.
- Must be legally eligible to work in accordance with federal and state law.
- Must have dependable transportation to and from DG Food facilities, no exceptions.
- Must be able to work various hours/holidays/weekends.
- Must be able to always wear all required Personal Protective Equipment when required.
- Must pass internal skills assessment with a score of 80% or above and must be able to demonstrate the skill set.
- Must be able to perform the functions of a pallet jack operator and a forklift operator. Responsible for keeping truck clean (inside & out), daily maintenance (grease fifth wheel, diesel fueling, DEP filling, etc.)
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent. However, other combinations of experience and education will be considered.
- Ability to work in a cold and wet environment.
- Must be able to work standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 70 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
