You will be responsible for managing assemblies from initial design through procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, and integration, coordinating resources, schedules, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution.
This is a highly hands-on engineering role within a fast-paced R&D manufacturing environment, where you will work directly with engineers and technicians to solve complex technical challenges and accelerate the development of our Tunnel Boring Machines.
Responsibilities Own the manufacturing and integration of mechanical subsystems, driving hardware from design through fabrication, assembly, testing, and implementation.
Serve as the liaison between Mechanical Design Engineering and R&D Production teams, reviewing technical drawings and providing feedback on manufacturability, assembly, performance, and design simplicity.
Work directly with production teams to troubleshoot fabrication, machining, and assembly challenges while developing tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
Manage project schedules, coordinate procurement of materials and components, track vendor lead times, and drive critical path activities to meet aggressive development timelines.
Support prototype builds, testing, and design iterations to ensure subsystems meet overall performance and operational requirements.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
1+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, hardware development, or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software with the ability to read, interpret, and work from detailed engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and assembly specifications.
Hands-on experience with mechanical fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, or hardware testing in a professional, academic, or personal project setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly challenges.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across engineering, production, and procurement teams.
Culture We're a team of dedicated, smart, and scrappy people. Our employees are passionate about our mission and determined to innovate at every opportunity.
Benefits We offer employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid holidays, paid vacation, and a competitive amount of equity in the form of RSUs for all permanent employees.
