Willow Springs Recovery is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician who wants to help individuals make a new beginning in life by overcoming substance abuse struggles. We offer comprehensive services and treatment supported by a knowledgeable and experienced staff dedicated to supporting individuals on their recovery journey.
Make an impact by assessing client needs and monitoring behavior while at the program. The Behavioral Health Technician documents activities of daily living, cares for clients, helps coordinate treatment, executes daily programming, and assists counselors with crisis management, groups, and education as needed.
Qualifications- Experience, knowledge, or interest in chemical dependency and abuse.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse team.
- Completion of all Behavioral Health Technician duties and documentation within Willow Springs Recovery and state‑mandated timelines.
- Conduct client rounds according to state protocols and document appropriately.
- Review communication log at beginning of shift and complete summary and essential tasks by shift end.
- Complete new admission intake procedures according to Willow Springs Recovery policies (UA, belongings searches, paperwork).
- Document daily progress in client charts; overnight staff to record quantity and quality of sleep in progress notes.
- Administer detoxification protocols (vital signs and rounds) for all detoxification clients.
- Crisis intervention.
- Assist, teach, and supervise clients with general household chores.
- Monitor clients’ needs and behaviors, interact with clients and their families or significant others as needed, and document interactions.
- Continue learning about alcohol and drug abuse, alcoholism, and recovery principles.
- Assist and participate with on‑site activities, support groups, outings, and community meetings as assigned.
- Establish rapport, gather data, and assess readiness for treatment and change.
- Screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms.
- Demonstrate adherence to accepted ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
- Participate in continuing professional development.
- Maintain facility cleanliness and upkeep of program.
- Use principles of communicable disease prevention and control.
- Recognize early signs of illness and report professionally.
- Assist in providing access to community services and resources.
- Recognize individuals under influence of alcohol or drugs and document in communication log or incident report.
- Respond to emergencies and initiate action as required.
- Follow HIPAA regulations.
