Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment and ensuring an adequate supply of linen for residents.
Responsibilities include following work and cleaning schedules, reporting accidents, coordinating laundry services with nursing, adhering to fire safety policies, and using safety equipment when handling heavy objects.
Additional duties involve maintaining cleanliness and safety in work areas, properly handling chemicals, using personal protective equipment, managing supplies, and cleaning equipment and work areas.
During emergencies, distribute laundry and linens as instructed. Maintain confidentiality of resident information and report any unauthorized disclosures.
Qualifications:
- Maintain sanitation, order, and safety in laundry areas.
- Follow written and oral instructions regarding cleaning compounds and procedures.
- Ability to lift and move a minimum of 25 pounds, and push or pull such weight over a minimum distance of 50 feet.
