Play an integral role in delivering sustainable infrastructure and industrial construction projects that support the world's evolving energy, chemicals, and resources needs. As a Material Controller II, you will help ensure materials, equipment, and construction resources are accurately planned, tracked, received, stored, controlled, and distributed to support safe and efficient project execution.

Working closely with engineering, procurement, warehouse, logistics, and construction teams, you will serve as a key interface between material management and field execution. Your expertise will help ensure the right materials are available at the right time, supporting productivity, schedule adherence, and successful project delivery.

Purpose of the role

At Worley, we are committed to delivering sustainable change by bridging today's energy and resource demands with the transition to a more sustainable future. The Material Controller II plays an important role in this journey by supporting material control processes that enable successful construction execution.

This role is responsible for maintaining and operating material control systems, supporting inventory management activities, and coordinating the receipt, storage, tracking, and distribution of materials and equipment required for construction and installation activities. Through collaboration with engineering, procurement, warehouse, and construction teams, you will help ensure material availability and accurate material documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

You will be responsible for

  • Assisting in the maintenance and operation of project material control systems.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings, blueprints, product specifications, bills of materials, and related documentation to determine material requirements.
  • Documenting overall material requirements, including codes, descriptions, manufacturers, suppliers, and ordering information necessary to support procurement and construction activities.
  • Verifying material requirements against existing inventory and procurement records and adjusting quantities accordingly.
  • Supporting material forecasting, planning, and tracking activities for assigned projects or construction areas.
  • Maintaining accurate records of material receipts, inventory, storage locations, material movements, and distribution activities.
  • Coordinating the receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, issuance, and distribution of materials and equipment.
  • Working closely with engineering, procurement, warehouse, logistics, and construction personnel to ensure material availability supports project schedules.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and identifying shortages, discrepancies, damaged materials, or potential supply constraints.
  • Supporting material reconciliation activities and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Assisting with material status reporting, inventory analysis, and project material forecasts.
  • Reviewing material transactions and ensuring information is accurately entered into material management systems.
  • Investigating material variances and recommending solutions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Supporting construction readiness activities through proactive material planning and coordination.
  • Assisting warehouse and field teams with material identification, tracking, and documentation requirements.
  • Promoting compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, and company material management requirements.
  • Assisting others with material control systems, processes, and tools while helping troubleshoot issues when required.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to materials management, inventory control, and operational efficiency.
