Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Days/Nights - PRN

Willow Springs Recovery is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for days and nights on a PRN basis in Bastrop, Texas.

Pay Range

$31.00/hr – $33.00/hr

Position Summary

The LVN will provide quality medical care within Willow Springs Recovery’s Detoxification and Residential Programs. Responsibilities include oversight of onsite LVNs, execution of nursing duties, medication administration, documentation, and participation in daily meetings and quality improvement activities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Initial detox treatment plan generation and discharge planning instructions.
  • Adhere to facility policy, state, and federal law.
  • Consult with physicians regarding patient health care plans and treatment.
  • Participate in diagnostic test orders to help providers assess patients’ clinical problems.
  • Comply with medical records policies; maintain required records and legal documents.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Educate patients about health and illness and promote health maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team regarding patient treatment, health, and illness prevention.
  • Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
  • Post test and examination results daily.
  • Administer medications, provide vaccinations, and render treatment to clients.
  • Communicate with providers, RNs, LVNs, CMAs, and medical professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Consider client age and emotional stability when determining treatments.
  • Respond to client inquiries, concerns, and complaints as needed.
  • Oversee and maintain tracking of medical supplies and inventory.
  • Observe and record client behavior as needed.
  • Perform blood draws.
  • Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for care plans.
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
  • Maintain reports of patient medical histories and monitor changes in condition.
  • Check stock inventory regularly and place orders as required.
  • Adhere to protocols, norms, rules, and regulations for complete medical records.
  • Provide instant care during medical emergencies.
  • Offer guidance on health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic working environment.
  • Assist with shift coverage as needed, potentially outside normal schedule.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of administrative functions including interpersonal communication, office etiquette, and computer skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of psychiatric education and treatment of the chemically dependent population.
  • Strong clinical ethical standards.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of dual diagnosis behavioral health treatment practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of HIPAA regulations and CFR 42 requirements.
  • Basic understanding of report generation and data interpretation.

Salary & Schedule Information
  • Weekend & Holiday Availability Required
  • Working Outside of Normal Schedule Required At Times
  • Non-Exempt
  • 12 Hour Shifts (6:45am-7:15pm)
  • $1.00 Shift Differential (11:00pm-7:00am)
  • $31.00-$33.00 hourly
Qualifications and Preferences
  • 3-5 Years of nursing experience, preferably in the chemically dependent population.
  • 1-3 Years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
  • Experience working with medical records is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Valid LVN license in Texas.
  • Utilization Review experience is a plus.
  • Ability to explain treatments and conditions to clients of all ages.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations.
