Position OverviewThe Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the end-to-end logistics of power transformers and associated equipment—including international shipping, inland transportation, storage, and site delivery. This role ensures logistics activities align with project timelines, technical specifications, and compliance requirements. The Logistics Manager also manages the RFQ process to select qualified local transportation partners for inland haulage and site coordination.
Responsibilities- Plan and manage transportation of power transformers, accessories from manufacturing locations (including international shipments) to project sites.
- Coordinate all phases of logistics including sea freight, port handling, customs clearance, inland transportation (rail/heavy haul), and final site delivery.
- Issue and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to identify and select local transportation vendors for inland logistics, ensuring compliance with technical and safety requirements.
- Evaluate vendor proposals based on cost, capability, schedule adherence, and regulatory compliance, and recommend final selections to project teams.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and heavy haul carriers to ensure smooth execution of deliveries.
- Align delivery schedules with project timelines, coordinating closely with project managers, site supervisors, and EPC contractors.
- Review and coordinate transportation drawings, route surveys, permit applications, and axle load plans for oversized loads.
- Ensure all import and transport documentation is complete and compliant (e.g., BOL, COO, packing lists, commercial invoices).
- Monitor transportation performance, manage logistics budgets, and resolve any disruptions or delays.
- Prepare regular status updates and logistics reports for clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, preferably in heavy equipment or transformer transportation.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, port operations, customs clearance, and oversized/heavy haul transportation.
- Experience issuing and managing RFQs for local logistics subcontractors.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, Incoterms, and permit procedures.
- Excellent project coordination, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work across multiple regions and time zones under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with tools such as SAP, Excel, and project management systems.
- Bilingual in Korean and English required.
