The SMT Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end management of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes in PCB/PCBA manufacturing. This role covers material planning, equipment operation and maintenance, process control, and continuous improvement to ensure stable, efficient, and high-quality production throughout the entire electronic assembly lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Debug and optimize SMT programs; prepare production process flow documents and establish process specifications.
  • Drive SMT process optimization and efficiency improvements, resolve production abnormalities, and analyze product quality issues to ensure stable line operation.
  • Design, develop, and optimize critical SMT processes, including stencils, fixtures, solder paste, and reflow profiles.
  • Support Quality and Production teams in identifying manufacturing issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Train SMT technicians and standardize process operations.
  • Conduct regular technical and quality reviews with customers, including reports such as MIL, PM, FMEA, CPP, QCP, and FACAR

  • Operate and support SMT equipment, including JUKI pick-and-place machines
    , Jet AOI
    , and SPI systems
    .
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient in operating SMT equipment, including pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, and reflow ovens.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components and packaging (e.g., 0201 vs. 0402) and reflow/thermal profiles, including BGA processes.
  • Proficient in SMT-related software such as Enterprise
    3000, CAM
    350, and eMTest

    .
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a PCB/PCBA manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with AOI, AXI, and ICT testing methods and result analysis.
  • Experience supporting NPI, pilot runs, and mass production is highly preferred.
