Our facility in Batam, Indonesia specializes in the production of lighting and detection product technologies including our Specialty Lamps for industrial and photonics applications, IPL Lamps and Trigger Coils, as well as Infra-Red Detectors (IRD), Sensor Modules and Pyro-electric Ceramic Wafers. Operating since September 1994, this site is also responsible for manufacturing of our Thermopile Sensors (TPS), Thermopile modules (TPM), CCD Sensors and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.

We are currently seeking an Equipment Project Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of production equipment while also collaborates closely with NPI/R&D teams in equipment design and tester development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure equipment reliability, uptime, and performance through preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Support equipment design, specification development, and selection of OEM machines or suppliers.
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including evaluation, coordination, and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with NPI/R&D teams on in‑house tester design, covering hardware, electronics, software, and user interface requirements.
  • Develop and maintain equipment procedures, documentation, work instructions, and technical reports.
  • Apply data analytics to monitor equipment trends, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Execute structured problem‑solving methodologies to address equipment failures and process deviations.
  • Initiate and support improvement projects aimed at enhancing reliability, throughput, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and junior engineering staff.
  • Support project management activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering tasks for equipment setup, upgrades, and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with quality management, occupational safety, environmental, and health procedures in all equipment‑related activities.
Qualifications
  • Applied Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experiences in similar roles within the electronics manufacturing industry. Fresh graduates with demonstrated technical project achievements are welcome to apply.
  • Knowledge in PLCs, Lab View/C#, microcontrollers, or robotic programming is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fundamentals with exposure to preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis, structured problem‑solving tools, and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Familiarity with equipment reliability, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and adaptability.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Experience or knowledge in Project Management and Lean Six Sigma is an added advantage.
