The Electrical Engineer is a full-time role and will be part of the Data Centre team, reporting to the Campus Critical Facilities Manager.
LocationBased in our offices in Batam, Indonesia.
OverviewThe Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and continuous operation of critical electrical systems within the data center environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining high availability by managing daily operations, executing maintenance strategies, and driving continuous improvements across electrical infrastructure.
Acting as a core technical function, the Electrical Engineer supports operational excellence by integrating engineering expertise, risk management, and compliance with industry standards to sustain uptime, efficiency, and safe facility operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Electrical Engineer has the following key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient and uninterrupted data center operations.
- Contribute to reliability, sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives across critical facility operations.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, maintenance records, operating procedures and asset information.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, PTW requirements, regulatory obligations and industry best practices.
- Developing and reviewing MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, maintenance reports and technical documentation.
- Monitor system performance, identify risks and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
- Manage the operation, maintenance and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure including UPS systems, generators, switch gear and power distribution systems.
- Coordinate maintenance, upgrades, and project activities with vendors and contractors while minimizing operational impact.
- Execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment availability and uptime.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive timely resolution of technical issues.
- Support commissioning, testing, and operational readiness activities for new installations and infrastructure upgrades.
- 3–5 years of experience in data centers, critical facilities, industrial plants or mission-critical environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution systems, UPS, generators, switch gear and critical power infrastructure.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and electrical system reliability management.
- Familiarity with electrical safety regulations, risk assessments, PTW and LOTO processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
