At Caterpillar’s Indonesia Batam, we manufacture Hydraulic Mining Shovels products used in mining to move materials that makes a better world.

As a Prove Design Mechanic you may work on functional areas including, but not limited to, product design, development, research, quality & reliability, materials, manufacturing process, application and installation, product performance/support, service, and facilities.

• Perform design of simple parts.
• Use mechanical knowledge to address technical problems in production line related to product design.
• Follow specified directions, schematics, and work orders to run tests, collect data, and diagnose issues in manufacturing line.
• Create simple technical work instructions to support production line.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams, including global partners.
• Perform engineering proof designs or test fit ups.

• College or university degree in a Mechanical/manufacturing engineering-related discipline. Fresh graduate bachelor/diploma degree are welcomed.
• Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering drawings/designs.
• Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) interpretation.
• Good communications skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work with diverse teams of employees.

• Mechanical engineering tools (Creo, Solidworks, Catia, Inventor) proficiency.
• Having experience in Fabrication/assembly/Heavy manufacturing process.

(with Or Without Reasonable Accommodation) This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.

• Job Type: 12 months contract.
• This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
• Travel Requirement: 10% (domestic)
• You will work in an office and shop floor environment.
• Domestic relocation is not available for this position.
