QC Welding Inspector

Job Description

His/Her duties as QC Welding Inspector include the following responsibilities and requirements.

• Perform fit up and welding visual inspection in line with project specs and code.
• Perform manual DC measurements with tape, laser distance meter etc for structure, pressure vessel/piping.
• Send NOI and escort and perform joint inspection with client as and when required.
• Ensure NDT and coverage are sufficiently done as per weld map and timely requested.
• Ensure daily communication to client for NOI and update to superiors and conduct as required.
• Ensure all prerequisite documents are in place at site and all joint matrix box data are properly filled at site.
• Ensure QC document controller has proper material and welding traceability in place.
• Coordinate with DC surveyor team and painting team and issuance of release note as necessary.
• Willing to work night shift, perform any other QC related duties when required by organization or QC Manager.
• Perform boroscope inspection, coordinate with boroscope team and generate boroscope reports timely on daily basis.

• Need to have approx. min 3 years relevant experience and a certified welding inspector (min CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, etc.).
• RI Certification (PCN or CSWIP) would be added advantage.
• Technical Diploma or Degree will be preferable.
• Willing to be stationed at subcon facility within Batam whenever requested by organization, supervisor or QC Manager.
